We’re excited to share important updates following the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) Advisory Visit to our Ibadan campus on March 20, 2025. This visit, led by the Deputy Registrar of MDCN, is a major milestone in our ongoing efforts to offer world-class Medicine & Surgery and Dentistry programs at Hillside University of Science and Technology (HUST).
The MDCN team was received warmly at the HUST Ibadan campus by the University Management, headed by our President and Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Iheanyichukwu Okoro. Throughout the visit, the team provided invaluable insights and feedback on several key areas, including infrastructure development, faculty requirements, and curriculum alignment with the standards set by both the National Universities Commission (NUC) and the MDCN. These discussions are vital as we continue to build a robust and internationally recognized medical and dental education system.
Key Takeaways from the Visit:
- ✅ Infrastructure Development – The MDCN team reviewed HUST’s classrooms, labs, and hospital facilities. They suggested improvements to better support medical and dental education.
- ✅ Faculty Requirements – The MDCN provided guidance on the qualifications and professional development of our faculty. This will ensure our educators meet the high standards required to teach medical and dental students effectively.
- ✅ Curriculum Alignment – The MDCN team also evaluated our medical and dental curricula. They recommended adjustments to enhance the quality of our programs, ensuring our students are well-prepared for national exams and global healthcare challenges.
