Hillside University of Science And Technology, Okemesi Matriculates Her Alpha Set

Hillside University of Science and Technology held its inaugural matriculation ceremony on June 13, 2024, with the theme “Disruptive Innovation for National Development.” This momentous occasion marked the formal admission of the incoming class of 2024.

Prof. Iheanyichukwu Okoro, the President/Vice-chancellor welcomed all guests present at the ceremony, emphasizing the importance of innovation in driving national development. His speech highlighted the university’s commitment to nurturing talents that would contribute significantly to society. He further congratulated the matriculating students and mentioned that the institution is set to train the head, heart, and hands.

Prof. Emmanuel Iyayi Unabonah, Director, of Redeemer’s University African Centre of Excellence for Water and Environmental Research (ACE-WATER), the guest speaker, delivered an inspiring talk on the role of disruptive innovation in transforming economies and societies. He encouraged the matriculants to be pioneers in their respective fields.

The students took the matriculation oath, pledging their commitment to the university’s values and standards which was led by the Senior Vice-President/Registrar. This formal acceptance marked the beginning of their academic journey at Hillside University of Science and Technology.

The ceremony attracted esteemed guests, including registrars from neighboring universities, JAMB State Coordinator and his team, a representative of the Kabiyesi of Okemesi community, various military officials, family members, and well-wishers of the students. Their presence added grandeur to the event and underscored the university’s esteemed standing in the academic community.

The matriculation ceremony was not just a formality but a significant milestone for the students and the institution.
