On Tuesday, 10th June 2025, Hillside University of Science and Technology (HUST), Okemesi, had the privilege of hosting Professor Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan. His visit to the Main Campus marked an exciting milestone in the university’s growing collaboration with leading medical institutions.
The CMD was warmly received by the Registrar, Dr Mercy Lyons who shared an insightful history of the university and its journey toward academic excellence. During the visit, the Registrar took Professor Otegbayo on a tour of the university, showcasing its serene environment and modern facilities. Despite being away on another assignment, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Iheanyichukwu Okoro, took the opportunity to speak with Professor Otegbayo on the phone, expressing his gratitude for the CMD’s visit and support.
The CMD expressed his admiration for the university’s commitment to fostering an academic environment conducive to learning and growth. He also extended his commendations to the institution for its efforts in developing state-of-the-art medical training facilities for its students.
In his remarks, Professor Otegbayo assured the university of his intention to visit the Ibadan Campus, where the 200-level medical students are currently undergoing their pre-clinical training. His visit symbolizes the strengthening of ties between HUST and UCH, paving the way for future collaboration and partnership in medical education.
